Rachael is the founder and director of The English School. Rachael was born and went to university in England, before moving to Zürich in 2011. Before founding The English School, Rachael taught children and adults at schools and colleges in Kanton Zürich and abroad. Her wealth of experience has enabled her to create a school optimised for stress free and enjoyable learning for both adults and children.
Christian is Rachael's husband. Christian manages a Single Family Investment Office and has his office in the building of The English School. While Christian is not an instructor for The English School, his knowledge of IT as well as his technical and practical know-how have proven invaluable to the school on a regular basis.
Lisa is The English School’s Teaching Specialist for Children. She was born and raised in Canada and embarked on a career of international teaching after completing her university studies. Lisa has taught in classrooms in Canada, South Korea, Tanzania, Kenya, and Germany. She has been living in Switzerland since 2017 and strives to provide a learning environment that helps children explore their natural curiosities, to develop their self-confidence, and to realize their strengths.
Kortney is The English School’s Creative Teaching Specialist. An artist and teacher who moved to Zurich from the USA in 2017, Kortney holds a degree in fine arts and has been educating children for over five years. Kortney is passionate about the role that creativity plays in childhood development and channels this passion into creating a fun and dynamic learning environment for her students.
In addition to her group classes, Kortney is available for private art lessons for both adults and children.
Elodie is The English School’s Little Linguists teaching specialist. Passionate about children’s education and languages, she holds a teaching degree with a specialization in second language education. She has been working as an English teacher in Canadian elementary schools for the past four years and she recently moved to Zurich.
Having taught in both inclusive and special needs classrooms, Elodie puts an emphasis on hands-on learning that allows students to reach their full potential, in a positive learning environment that accounts for their own abilities and interests.
